After a long pause in service, one of Wyoming’s most important outlets for Native news, The Ranger newspaper, this week relaunched its Web site.

The Ranger is not a Native newspaper per se, but it, along with its sister papers, The Lander Journal and the Wind River News, provides the bulk of the daily Native news coverage in Wyoming. The Ranger is headquartered in Riverton, which is inside the exterior boundaries of the Wind River Indian Reservation. The Ranger Web site has been off line for months.

The relaunched site is free, well designed, and appears to provide access to most or all of the print-edition content. The relaunch follows the appearance in November of County 10, a Web-based news outlet that competes with The Ranger.
